Growing up in a small town often becomes the foundation for a lifetime of stories — where everyone knows your name, hard work is a way of life, and Friday night lights shine like a beacon of pride. Those themes of blue-collar values, big dreams, heartbreak, and hometown loyalty are woven deeply into the music of the Philip Griffin Band.
The band’s self-titled EP, Philip Griffin Band (2009), marked the beginning of a journey rooted in small-town pride and life seen through a young man’s eyes. From the heartache of “Left Us Here” to the determined spirit of “Watch Me Go,” the hopeful ambition of “Worth It,” and the tense unraveling in “Running Out of Time,” each track showcases Griffin’s emotional depth. The EP also features the heartfelt ballad “Austin” and the honky-tonk, two-stepping anthem “How Bout You and Me.” Together, these songs reflect storytelling that resonates deeply, painting vivid scenes of love, loss, and resilience across Texas dance halls.
Over the years, Philip Griffin Band has performed at many iconic Texas venues, including Goode’s Armadillo Palace, Firehouse Saloon, Shiner’s Saloon, Bandera Saloon, River Road Icehouse, Tavern on the Gruene, House of Blues Houston, Big Texas Dance Hall & Saloon, Crosby Fair and Rodeo, and Jackson County Fair and Rodeo, along with hundreds of other bars and honky-tonks across the state.
They’ve also shared the stage with a wide range of respected artists in the Texas country scene, including Adam Hood, Josh Ward, Cody Jinks, Sundance Head, Bri Bagwell, Max Stalling, Roger Creager, Kevin Fowler, Jason Boland, and Wade Bowen, among many others.
Following the success of their EP, the band released their second album, Burning Bridges, which received strong support from fans. Building on that momentum, they began work on new material and prepared to launch their first radio single. With their sights set on expanding their honky-tonk, two-stepping sound across Texas and beyond, Philip Griffin Band continues to carry the spirit of small-town storytelling into every performance.
