Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jenna Katherine has loved music all her life. One of her first concerts at the age of 4 was Carrie Underwood and ever since that night Ms Underwood has been one of her idols. While Jenna has been writing since the age of 10, she never realized her talent until she wrote her original song “Friend Zone”, written in the 6th grade. This was one of her first complete songs she wrote. Since then, she has stayed with her love for writing, singing and guitar playing.
Jenna started playing piano at a very young age and after 3 years felt she didn’t quite have the passion like she does with the guitar. She was part of her elementary choir, middle school region choir & high school advanced treble choir. At the age of 10, friend Bri Bagwell suggested she attend Kyle Hutton’s “Real Life, Real Music” Camp and attended that 4 years in a row. She worked with mentors such as Kyle Hutton, Bri Bagwell, Marcus Eldridge, Josh Grider, Drew Kennedy, Courtney Patton, Shellee Coley and Morgan Wilson. Jenna found what she already knew she had, a love & passion for playing guitar and songwriting.
Jenna Katherine has opened for and performed with many great Texas country music artists like Bri Bagwell, Sarah Hobbs, Matt Caldwell, Jason Allen, Brian Black, Heather Rayleen, Kenna Danielle, Marcus Eldridge, Josh Grider, Josh Fuller and Sierra Bernal. She has also worked with Stormy Cooper & Lyndon Hughes. All these people are great friends and mentors that she loves dearly.
She recently graduated high school, however during her school career, she had to learn to balance her time between school, writing, singing, guitar, studies. Jenna has been an honor roll student, an FFA Officer for her chapter, raised cattle, pigs and taken younger students under her wing to mentor them. Jenna has also volunteered her time as a little league coach for the team she was on from 1st – 6th grade and still graduated in the top half of her class. Although she has a hectic schedule, she still finds time and continues her passion for writing and playing guitar, which she loves the most!
Jenna Katherine released her first EP at the age of 14 working with the Stormy Cooper studio team and is working on some amazing new material for her next album.
