Country singer/songwriter Matt Caldwell hails from the small town of Nevada, Texas. Over the course of his career, he has earned six singles on the Texas charts, including one No. 1 hit, four Top 10s, and eleven Top 20 songs.
As a songwriter, Matt has made a significant impact, with 35 of his songs recorded by artists such as Clay Walker, Granger Smith, and Josh Ward. He has also shared the stage with some of country music’s biggest names, including Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence, Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Eli Young Band, Wade Bowen, and David Allan Coe.
Matt’s love for music began in church during his childhood in Nevada, Texas. In high school, athletics briefly took center stage—he played baseball and basketball and served as the starting quarterback on the football team. By his senior year, however, music had reclaimed his heart. He stepped away from sports to front a band called “Texas’ Most Wanted,” hitting the road for several years and honing his craft on stages across the region.
Determined to grow as a songwriter and artist, Matt eventually moved to Nashville. After six years of pursuing the dream, he returned home to Texas, settling back in Nevada with renewed focus and purpose.
From 2012 to 2015, Matt gained national exposure as a cast member of the syndicated TV show Troubadour, TX on the CW Network. Known for his easygoing stage presence, approachability, and genuine humility, Matt creates an atmosphere where it’s hard to tell who’s having more fun—the audience or him.
