The song of American south seems to always wind it’s way through the heart of Texas, striking gold as yet another talented songwriter first finds his voice and song in his own magical way. For Hayden Woollen, watching his father play music for years in Houston, Texas market, He started following in his dad’s footsteps but quickly realized he had so much more to say. As a songwriter, he first emulated his heroes, then all at once found his own natural style rooted in the experiences of his young life in and around his East Texas hometown of Katy.
Katy was the launching pad for his current project titled “the Hoodbilly chronicles,” based on characters in his life that are all too real and too colorful not to write about. Hayden makes his way from gig to gig, writers nights to honky tonk and tells these tales with an incredible force and inconceivable talent for a young man his age.
Teaming with veteran producer and guitar virtuoso Ken Reynolds, Hayden found a partner in crime to help him tell the stories that have haunted his mind for years. This collection of tunes, along along with his first single for Lake Paradise Records “I’m Drinkin” are sure to be heard in the honkytonks and ice houses all thru the American South. Isn’t that what a hoodbilly dreams of after all?
