JONATHAN MCCABE

Jonathan McCabe’s interest in music began at a young age listening to his father, brothers and uncle play guitars. Knowing that he had a passion for music, his family gave him a drum set for Christmas at 4 years old. By the time he was 13 he was playing occasionally in his father’s band.

His mother also encouraged his education in music by taking him to his favorite concerts; including local bands. This education evolved into ‘open mic’ events within the next year. After high school McCabe decided to venture into becoming a business owner. He laid down the drumsticks and hung up the guitar for 11 years.

With the dance halls and honky-tonks calling him back, the J. McCabe band was formed, and he returned to music.

His inspiration stems from great artists such as Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, Dwight Yoakum, The Mavericks and Marty Stuart. “Good friends assisted me in going back to my roots of traditional country music with a hillbilly Bakersfield twist. I want to entertain friends, family and new acquaintances by singing and playing my guitar”, McCabe stated.
